Ella Skiens
As an editor for the second year and a staffer for three years, the one thing that stresses Ella out the most is Newspaper. Whether it’s making schedules, staying late after school, or harping about deadlines, everyone can assume that she is either behind it or worrying about it. Secretly, however, she loves the chaos. To care about something so much that it causes hair to fall off, and tears to flow is worth it in her eyes. It’s like becoming The Velveteen Rabbit. Everything becomes real when it is worn out of love. Over the years, Ella has given the Scroll everything. She hopes that her final year on staff will be the best year yet, and wishes to leave the legacy of the Scroll standing for generations to come. Most importantly she wants to make sure that everyone on staff has fun, laughs a lot, and eats a bunch of food. Aside from the amazing staffers, Ella loves to be able to write a story that will matter to someone. She has drifted from more technical writing to focusing on the message and the feeling that goes into a story. To her, the only reason for words is to convey a feeling and to remind ourselves of our humanity.
